About the IOA
The Heart of Olympism
The International Olympic Academy was founded in 1961 in Ancient Olympia, Greece — the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games. It is the world's leading institution dedicated to Olympic education, values, and the promotion of the Olympic movement as a force for peace, understanding, and human excellence.
The IOA is not a sports academy. It is a global and cultural centre where young people from over 100 countries gather to explore leadership, ethics, global citizenship, and the meaning of the Olympic spirit in modern life.
